Guard Your Tongue
Our spoken words have a power of their own. They have the power to heal, encourage, edify and they also have the power to wound, hurt and destroy. Too often we may find ourselves being careless and thoughtless with our words. Instead of thinking before we say them, we just spew them out, wanting so much to be heard. As followers of Christ, we are to be lead by the Holy Spirit and our words are to come under that leading. In fact, one day we will give an account before God for our words. MATTHEW 12:36,27 NIV 36 BUT I TELL YOU THAT EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO GIVE ACCOUNT ON THE DAY OF JUDGMENT FOR EVERY EMPTY WORD THEY HAVE SPOKEN. 37 FOR BY YOUR WORDS YOU WILL BE ACQUITTED, AND BY YOUR WORDS YOU WILL BE CONDEMNED." That's really a sobering thought. It should make us want to run to God and ask for forgiveness for all the foolish, hurtful and untruthful things we have ever said.
I've been asking God to remind me how important it is to speak wisely. I too often, love to blurt out a response without thinking about how it may affect others. First off, before I speak is it something that is pleasing to God? Is it true? Is it hurtful? Does it build up or tear down? God's Word has lots to say about the way we should use our words. Here are just a few verses for us all to memorize.
PROVERBS 21:23 NIV 23 THOSE WHO GUARD THEIR MOUTHS AND THEIR TONGUES KEEP THEMSELVES FROM CALAMITY.
1 PETER 3:10 NIV 10 FOR,"WHOEVER WOULD LOVE LIFE AND SEE GOOD DAYS MUST "KEEP THEIR TONGUE FROM EVIL "AND THEIR LIPS FROM DECEITFUL SPEECH. We need to guard ourselves against falling into the pattern of spreading rumors, lying or speaking anything that would go against the Word of God, if we want to see good days!
PROVERBS 12:18 NIV 18 THE WORDS OF THE RECKLESS PIERCE LIKE SWORDS, BUT THE TONGUE OF THE WISE BRINGS HEALING. I don't think most of us realize the damage that can be done when we speak recklessly but often we wound others including those we love the most, by speaking without thinking first.
For such a small organ, "the tongue" is capable of doing much! James lays out its capability for good and evil and reminds us that we are to use it for good!

I remember my Mom telling me as a young child, "Think before you speak." There's a lot of wisdom in that saying. My prayer is that God will gently remind me every time I speak out of fear, anger, bitterness or any other thing that is contrary to the Word of God. I want my words to bring blessing and healing into this broken world of ours. Instead of using our words to tear down, lets follow the words of David in PSALM 34:13 NIV 28 MY TONGUE WILL PROCLAIM YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS, YOUR PRAISES ALL DAY LONG!

St Barbara Of Heliopolis Thunder And Lightning Patroness
It is said that Barbara lived in Syria, in the town of Heliopolis, as a daughter of wealthy pagan Disocores, who after the death of his wife devoted his life to his daughter, Barbara. Barbara had to live isolated, in tower that her father had built for her, in luxury but also isolation and solitude. Experiencing the beauty of the nature from her tower windows, she started wondering about Creator, who she could not see in vane Pagan idols. Barbara grew into an extraordinary beautiful Young women, who had refused all the suitors her father had chosen and brought to her. Deducting it might have been a result of her isolation, Dioscores had given her freedom of movement and socializing, with people she herself would chose. Upon arriving to the town, Barbara met Christian maidens who had taught her about Christianity, Creator Mundi, The Most Holy Trinity and Logos. Be it accidental or not ( G'd providence ) a priest arrived in town, introduced her to Christian mysteries even more, and baptized her.
Meanwhile Dioscores had been building a bathhouse, very luxurious and beautiful, with two windows on the south side. Using one of her father's absences Barbara instructed workers to make 3 of windows instead, symbolizing Holy Trinity, which had aggravated her father ferociously as soon as he had seen it, and heard from Barbara that she has chosen the True G'd over profane idols. Barbara, however stood up to her beliefs, which had only further angry her father.
In rage he had beaten up his daughter and wanted to kill her by sword, but Barbara fled and escape by means of miraculous creation of opening in the rock, leading her to a safety of the mountain, where she was protected by two shepherds.
According to some stories, it was one of the twpo very shepherds that had betrayed her and as punishment, he was turned to stone. Be it how it was, St Barbara was eventually caught and beaten badly by her father, then incarcerated, and tortured daily, starved and put to serious physical injuries. Over the night, she would pray, and the Lord Savior would heal her wound. Certain women, named Juliana, in sympathy with the righteous virgin, and trying to defend her has lived up to similar fate, and was imprisoned, and tortured along St. Barbara. They were both wounded, and led naked throught the city peoples derision, but because of St. Barbara's prayers they were eventually covered by splendid robe, as an act of Angelic interdiction.
Dioscores finally decapitated St. Barbara and Martian soldiers decapitated Juliana. Soon, however, the wrath of the One True Righteous G's befall on them, and they were both ( Disocores, and Martian, the city perfect ) struck down by the lightning. According to one version, the lightning had hit them on their way to town, after the gnarly act, while other version says how lightning had hit them in their residences/house.
St Barbara is often depicted in red and white clothes, holding chalice or miniature model of fortress she was imprissioned in. Sometimes the fortress is seen in background as well. The Sky above the Saint is often gloomy with indications of possible thunders. In Orthodox Christian iconography, her image is osurrounded by minor pictures depicting scenes from certain periods of her life.
THE CULT OF SAINT BARBARA IN/AMONG BALKAN PENINSULA FOLK
St Barbara enjoys great reverence among Balkan peninsula folk, that almost borders with a cult ( much like some other Saints in this part of the world, such as Saint John, or Saint Cosmas and Damian ), and is an proper collection of beliefs and folk rites.
In Christianized areas ( most ) of Balkan peninsula, folk will not work heavy jobs ( mostly reffering to physical country choirs, like cattle work, mowing, wood cutting etc ) on this day, furthermore, women usually do not sew on this day. Instead women will cook up a specific meal, commonly called ( in Southern Slavic Language group ) "Varica"*. The meal is fairly simple, it's made of simply cooked up cereals of all sort, with an optional addition of Pumpkin or Sunflower seeds, and often addition of chopped fruit, anise seed and/or honey to savor it, and make more pleasant. While cooking this meal, women must not utter a single word, it is done in pure silence. No additional water, or other ingredient could be tadded after the meal was placed to cook on fire. Salt, from some ( to me unfamiliar ) reason was strictly prohibited adding in this meal. When finished, the meal was served to all the household members, to take at least a spoon, for it symbolized abundance and health, as well as honor to the Saint. Remaining would often be given to cattle.
According to old, Julian calendar, this Saint's feast day in Orthodox Christian churches of Balkan peninsula is 17th of December, according to Church calendar 4th. Incidentally or not, 17th/18th December was the beginning day, for a seven day spiritual initiation/ journey in Balkan peninsula folk magick. The folk, wishing to become skilled in spiritual work, would "starting of ( St. ) Barbara's day" and study the "art" for six days devotedly and on the sevenths day, would, sort of, become initiated, receiving to each person unique omen that they've succeed. The Seventh day (Initiation day ) of spiritual journey, would often fall on Equinox, again incidentally or not
This Saint is often petitioned by folk of Eastern Europe, when they believe they might be threatened by sudden or violent death. They would light a beeswax candle, obtained from church, though in modern day white or red candle are common choice as well, and would say following prayer, which is a troparion essentially :
"Let us praise holy Barbara who has broken the snares of the enemy. By the help of the weapon of the Cross, she has escaped as a bird and flown Godwards.!

HOODOO AND CONJURE
In Hoodoo St Barbra is patron Saint of ( as above in the text already mentioned ) soldiers, mine workers, firefighters, prisoners, stone masons, or any other life threatening profession. In New Orleans Voodoo-Hoodoo, and Creole Voodoo, it's syncretized with loa Chango, one of the Seven African powers and St. Barbara image is used to depict it sometimes.
In Syria, Lebanon and Palestine, much like in Balkanic countries, she is offered with White Barley, pomegranate seeds, sweetened with raisins, sugar and anise.
- Plants associated with Saint Barbara include; Anise, Feverfew, Life everlasting and other than some of those, sugar can be added to her devotional oil.
- Colors associated with her are red and white, so should candles be, though they come in all sort of colors from certain suppliers :/

Next Stop Persecution
Folks, let's all pray 1 of the only 2 prayers that Jesus commanded us to pray especially given the political climate we are entering in a few days (the one we're already in right now)...
LUKE 21:36 (KJV) "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man."
This will be very short today.
Yes, I'm still going to take heed of what I believe the Lord is telling me and will "REST IN HIM" for awhile and take a break from writing here until He tells me otherwise.
However, I just had to add a quick post in follow-up to THE LAST ONE ABOUT JUDGMENT starting with the house of God. In fact, I believe this is meant to be an addendum to that one.
The message? The harsh reality of REVELATION 13:7 seems to be upon us. Actually, the prophesied persecution of Christians across this nation (not just of those targeted by the MIAC REPORT, the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, or the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE recently).
Two headlines in the news today as we quickly approach critical mass. Here's the first...
"PASTOR TERRY JONES SAYS JESUS CHRIST WOULD BURN KORANS"
Terry Jones knows his plan to burn Korans on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks is radical, and that's exactly what he wants.
He believes it is what Jesus Christ would do.
"Jesus would not run around burning books," Jones told ABC's "Nightline" on Tuesday, "but I think he would burn this one."
I'm sorry Pastor, but I'm not so sure about that.
As my friend Jeremiah pointed out...
"There is still no reason to burn Quran's though brother. We are to do unto others as we would have others do unto us. Though I would agree with your comparison. It is still wrong that these people are doing this. The only book burning you see in the New Testament is in Ephesus, when new converts burned their own books that they decided to be reprehensible. The christian right of burning is to burn and destroy those idols which consume our own lives, not the lives of others."
I agree and I'm glad he brought that up so that I can explicitly go on the record and further state my position on this. I also don't think that Christians should be engaging in this type of incendiary, politically-motivated behavior, but it does bother me when we see the media and The-Powers-That-Be (and non-believers alike) point the accusatory finger at us Christians again and again.
No, it's not surprising given what the Word tells us to expect as believers in Jesus Christ, but now I can see how easily persecution of the saints can and will become a reality in the very near future, and why we're so close to the fulfillment of that portion of end times prophecy.

HE INFERNAL NAMES
There may be some people who have read up to this point and still might be skeptical. Masonry cleverly masks its references to Satan.
There are 77 names which pagans have used to refer to Satan over the centuries and they are in the Satanic Bible. We'll review some of these "Infernal Names" of Satanism found within Masonry. [Satanic Bible, Anton LaVey, p. 144-46]
We shall list the Freemason teaching on each of these names, and then the explanation.
Baphomet -- "The Gnostics held that it [universal agent] composed the igneous [pertaining to fire] body of the Holy Spirit, and it was adored in the secret rites of the Sabbat or the Temple under the hieroglyphic figure of Baphomet or the hermaphroditic goat of Mendes." [Pike, op. cit., p. 734, teaching of the 28th Degree; Emphasis added]
We find it absolutely incredible that the Freemasons should portray the Holy Spirit with the Satanic symbol, Baphomet.
Eliphas Levi created this symbol, one of the foremost Satanists and Freemasons of all time.
The Baphomet is one of the most evil of all symbols. Looking closely at the Baphomet(left) you will see that the emphasis is on sex. This Being is androgynous -- both male and female -- you can see it has the breasts of a woman, and an erect phallus.
You'll notice that the erect phallus has two serpents coiled around it. The Baphomet has the head of a "Horned Goat," another title for Satan.
Masonic and Occult Symbols Illustrated is a book in which Dr. Burns says, "In a book on witchcraft, The Complete Book of Witchcraft and Demonology... the caption states that he is 'the horned god of the witches, symbol of sex incarnate'." [p. 51] And if you look at his right hand you will see Baphomet making the sign of the Devil's triad. "Baphomet is also known as the Sabbatic goat, in whose form Satan is to be worshipped at the Witches' Sabbath." [Frank Gaynor, Dictionary of Mysticism, New York, Philosophical Library, 1953, p. 24]
Then, we discovered that Baphomet is officially approved as a symbol of the Church of Satan [The Occult Emporium, Winter, 1993-1994, p. 54] and that it is worn by the Priest of Satan [Ibid., 1990-1991, p. 26]
Since Albert Pike linked Baphomet with the Goat of Mendes, we will show this obviously Satanic symbol, as well. It should also be noted that from the way a pentagram is normally seen(one point up, two down), rotating the pentagram 33 degrees you get a Satanic Pentagram. 33 is the highest degree there is in Freemasonry.
Freemasonry makes use of the Pentagram quite a bit. You can see the similarity between the Eastern Star and and the Satanic Pentagram above. The Eastern Star is a Freemason division for women.
Once again, Masonry utilizes a very evil Satanic symbol for the Order that trains its young, impressionable girls. Why didn't Masonry at least utilize the "Good Star" with one point up, rather than the most evil 5-pointed star, this Goats Head of Mendes? Truly, their use of this symbol tells us exactly that they are evil through and through, even to their own young girls.

Larry The Athiest
You have a lot to share - wisdom that people need to hear.
I would really like for you to post on one of my websites. I need people such as yourself to help introduce ideas into the public dialogue.
As you know, I'm not an athiest, but this isn't a good reason to hate me - or teach others to hate me for sharing what i believe to be true. The hateful comments and spam which forced you to pull down your website came from students at College of the Ozarks.
I do not prescribe to this type of behavior. Democracy is for everyone not just those whose beliefs we agree with.
I've debated and won fights in the public domain to ensure state and religion to not weave into a dictatorship - to ensure history does not repeat itself.
Join the dialogue in an open honest manner.
The reality is many so called "Christians" are assholes. They don't fear God and there daily actions resemble nothing close to the love the story of Jesus Christ exhibited as described through the texts. It's embarrasing - perhaps - as embarrasing as some "Christians" feel about a few of my potty mouthed little posts.
Thing is - what offends me - is I put up a post of Rawanda where Christians were being slaughtered with the help of priests. No one noticed or seemed to care about what was happening to human life. They were upset about the word "shit". It blew my mind and helped me understand just how full of it these people are. I went to one of there houses and they couldn't even tell me what the ten commandments were nor what country the slaughter occured.
Help me. Help me be a better man by sharpening my mind with your unique ideas and perspectives on the universe.
When Heather Turner got back from CNN England she didn't want to talk to me or help me get some money I needed because you wouldn't approve. She loves and cares about you. She loves you to the point that she was willing to hold funds from me (still is) even when I was homeless.
I believe Turner is being prepared for great works. God? I don't worry so much about that - If there is a master of the universe - a father in heaven - he can talk to anyone whenever he feels like it. I suppose this priveldge goes along with omnipotence.

American Horror Story Coven Debuts Two Teaser Trailers

Two new teasers for American Horror Story: Coven "have us under their spell.
We may not get a ton of info from the first teaser, but it sure as hell is creepy. Are the women shown levitating and facing the wall in a pristine white room witches or their victims?
The second teaser is just as, if not creepier, as a life-size Voodoo doll lunges at us as "Winter Song" plays in the background.
Set in New Orleans, Coven features modern-day characters as well as some notorious figures from back in 1830. For example, Kathy Bates will be playing murderer/torturer, Marie Delphine LaLaurie, aka Madame LaLaurie. Angela Bassett will be portraying Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau.
According to the show's executive producer, Tim Minear, "I think some of the bigger themes this year is oppression of minorities of all kinds and within that idea, the idea of minority groups going after each other and doing the work for the larger culture. There's a very strong feminist theme there, there's also themes of race and themes of oppression and a very strong theme of family, specifically mothers and daughters."
"American Horror Story: Coven" premieres on FX this October 9. The first episode is titled, "Bitchcraft."
