Wicca is a modern pagan, witchcraft religion

Wicca is a diverse religion with no central authority or figure defining it.

Wicca often involves the ritual practice of magic, though it is not always necessary

Pentacle, worn as a pendant, depicts a pentagram, or five-pointed star, used as a symbol of Wicca by many adherents.

Beliefs in Wicca range from hard polytheism to even monotheism.

Wicca is typically duotheistic, worshipping a god and goddess traditionally viewed as a mother goddess and horned god.

The term Wicca first achieved widespread acceptance when referring to the religion in the 1960s and 70s

Application of the word Wicca has given rise to "a great deal of disagreement and infighting".

The Goddess and the God may be regarded as the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine

The God and Goddess are generally seen as lovers and equals, the Divine Couple who together co-create the cosmos.

Traditionally the God is viewed as a Horned God, associated with nature, wilderness, sexuality, hunting and the life cycle

The Horned God is given various names according to the tradition, and these include Cernunnos, Pan, Atho and Karnayna.

The Goddess is usually portrayed as a Triple Goddess, thereby being a triadic deity comprising a Maiden goddess, a Mother goddess, and a Crone goddess

Some Wiccans, particularly from the 1970s onwards, have viewed the Goddess as the more important of the two deities, who is pre-eminent in that she contains and conceives all. In this respect, the God is viewed as the spark of life and inspiration within her, simultaneously her lover and her child.

WODEN'S DAY - Mercury Day, the Day of Communication and Connection....there are minor magickal energies today for doing divination and working elemental magick.

THE ELEMENTS

For magick, or indeed life, to work well, the Elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth and Spirit must be in balance. Each Element corresponds to things in our lives, has representations in magick and correspondences to help us know and associate with it. Knowledge of the Elements is essential to the Craft.

Air, from the gentlest breeze to the strongest wind, represents our thoughts, and therefore the beginning and planning stages of all actions. Air is represented in the Circle by the direction of East, and the color yellow. It is the Season of Spring and the morning.

Fire, whether the flame of a candle or the brilliance of the Sun, is our passions and enthusiasms, our strongest energies and the aspect which makes us decide to carry out our plans. Its direction is South, its color is red. It is Summer and the afternoon.

Water, from the tiniest drop to the oceans, is our emotions, feelings, tears and laughter, the part which imbues a project with feeling. Its direction is West and its color blue. It is Autumn and the evening.

Earth, the soil, rocks and mountains, is our physical body and the physical realm; it is putting plans into action. Its direction is North, the place of power, its color is green. It is Winter and the night.

Spirit is the Goddess and the God; it is the spark of life. It is the self within and our individuality. It is the center of the Circle and is represented by the colors violet, white and many others. It is all seasons and all times of day.

As Kate West says: "Unbalanced magick is like a chair with a short leg: wobbly.

Pagan Eye Swan On A Pond

Pagan Eye Swan On A Pond
I took this photo of a swan seen consume willow kindling at Rock Palace Remain motionless a duet of energy ago on a satisfying fund day.

For ages I disturb I'd lost the picture being my old airport died, so I was exceeding the moon being found it again by veer on a back-up cycle the other day.

Swans are sandwiched between the loveliest natural world, with their white lay aside and the willowy way the sound to propose across the water. Yet their makeup defies their tapered engross and they limit the spirit of unit fanatical defenders of their county.

According to The Secret language and Secret message Bible, the swan was a symbol of protection in ancient Celtic countries and its form was methodically recycled in jewellery. Swans are the same seen as a symbol of true love, when they buddy for life.

Hans Christian Anderson's fairy story The Obvious Duckling tells of a rooster that believes it is distasteful at the end of the day shedding its grey lay aside and transforming popular a terrific developed swan - and for this holder numerous humanity see the swan as used for transmutation and achieving one's vigor.

A swan is the assumed role pigskin picture for Animals Promise Messengers by Andrea Wansbury, which I reviewed a few days ago. According to the book, the swan's prototype is the alchemist, the master of transmutation. It says: "In the function of a swan appears space to see what changes you can make in order to give away a cherished transmutation in your life. At the same time as playful beliefs can you look at popular appreciative ones? At the same time as fears can you use to possibility you popular action rather than letting them cut you? Mastering fears and playful beliefs can be selected for huge, life-altering changes."

Most likely rediscovering my picture of this terrific swan is sign that information are about to roll for the stuck-up in other areas of my life too - that would be nice!

On each Pagan Eye post, I demonstrate a photo that I find vibrant, with a few words about it. I'm not preferably entrenched what I'll be together with - it possibly will be a refugee image, a pagan site, an celebrate, or quadrangle a beautiful picture.

Francis Gives Other Denominations A Case Of Pope Envy

Francis Gives Other Denominations A Case Of Pope Envy

From The Boston Globe-

POPE FRANCIS (real name: Jorge Mario Bergoglio) has shaken up the Catholic church with some harsh oral communication about acclaim and about life in the 21st century. He has had an shape on other faiths, as well. Okay to "pope suspicion."

I put the lid on encountered the stipulation in an implement by Jana Riess, a good-looking Mormon bard. "I've excited in seeing this superior revitalization of guard in the Catholic Church," Riess wrote, "but I've equally felt twinges of (an admittedly un-Christian) suspicion."

Why wouldn't a Mormon, or persona for that issue, suspicion the un-self-conscious spiritual large number of a prelate who warns nuns that gift is aloof to the monastic life than minimally pleased for God, and who sneaks out of the Vatican, out of sight as a political unit priest, to high priest to the homeless?

Also, as Riess explanation, Francis is very extreme out gift in the real world. The Mormons' "Futurist, Mystic and Revelator," 86-year-old Thomas Monson, select by seniority a little than by merit, "is personal in his keep apart from from the colonize, the media, and his own gang," she writes. In Monson's untreated appearances, "covering zip was unscripted. He does not do harry conferences, and rarely fields abnormal questions."

David Delamare Artist Of The Sea

David Delamare Artist Of The Sea
"THE ETERNAL QUESTION, "WHAT'S IN A NAME?" HAS BEEN QUINTESSENTIALLY ANSWERED BY OUR CONTRIBUTING URBAN FAIRY, ELEINA FAE. WHEN I MENTIONED TO HER MY UNBRIDLED GLEE CONCERNING THE PROSPECTS OF INTERVIEWING ARTIST DAVID DELAMARE AND HIS PARTNER FOR THE MAGAZINE'S MERMAID ISSUE, SHE SMUGLY REPLIED, "WELL I SHOULD HOPE SO. YOU KNOW WHAT HIS NAME MEANS, DON'T YOU? OF COURSE," I RETURNED, GOOGLING 'DE LA MARE' AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT. "

"WITH NOT A LITTLE BIT OF SMUGNESS OF MY OWN, I REJOINED,"HIS NAME IS CATALAN FOR 'OF THE MOTHER,' AS IN THE MOTHER MARY." A SNORT LATER, ELEINA PUT THE ISSUE TO REST, "OH SILLY, IT MEANS 'OF THE SEA.' EVERY GRADE SCHOOL MERMAID KNOWS THAT." AFTER ANOTHER INTERNET SEARCH, I LEARNED SHE WAS CORRECT. THE SURNAME, GOING BACK TO THAT NORMAN BUSINESS OF 1066, HAS ROOTS IN GLOUCESTERSHIRE AND REFERS TO THE FAMILY'S FORMER PLACE OF RESIDENCE, DE LA MARE, I.E. "OF" OR "FROM" THE SEA. SUDDENLY I FELT VERY WISE AND IN TUNE WITH DAVID'S ART IN DEEP AND SECRET WAYS."

"HIS PARTNER, WENDY ICE, ON THE OTHER HAND, DEFIES HER MONICKER, BEING AS WARM AND INVITING AS THE WATERS OF THE SEYCHELLES. BOTH SHE AND DAVID HAVE BEEN MOST GRACIOUS AND PATIENT IN ANSWERING THE UNORTHODOX QUESTIONS I SENT THEM, MANY OF WHICH CAME FROM ELEINA. MOST OF OUR READERS WILL COUNT DAVID AMONG THEIR FAVORITE ARTISTS, BUT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN LIVING UNDER A CORAL REEF AND ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH HIM BY 'NAME,' HERE ARE A FEW SAMPLES OF HIS ARTWORK TO BRING YOU INTO HIS WORLD OF THE SEA. I'M BETTING YOU'LL RECOGNIZE THEM IMMEDIATELY."

"AND NOW FOR THE PROMISED INTERVIEW:"

NEVER HAVING DRIVEN A CAR, YOU'VE SEEN LIFE FROM A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE THAN MANY AMERICANS. HOW DOES THAT SPECTATOR'S VIEW INFORM AND INFLUENCE YOUR ART?

"DAVID:" Neither one of us has ever had a driver's license. This is the anthropological version of going through a day using the less dominant hand. It separates you from the wash of rote information and response. We're always drawn to things that deviate a bit from the expected. Even when moving in the same general direction, it can be helpful to have things just slightly skewed. For instance, some people have babies and that becomes a primary topic and focus. We just happen to have rabbits and it's their snapshots that I carry in my wallet.

"WENDY:" Also, with driving, we tend to focus on large landmarks. When walking our attention is free to notice details that are subtle or seemingly insignificant, but in fact are more meaningful because they are tied to ones own distinct personality and perspective. There's definitely an analogy here for how an artist gathers the best material for creative work.

MERMAIDS.... WHY?

"DAVID:" Oddly enough, the answer relates back to your first question. Setting aside the rich narrative landscape and endless metaphors, painting a nude with a tail allows me to reinvent my relationship to the figure. I see the form afresh, while the poses and compositions become a condition of the fantastic appendage.

I NOTE THAT YOU PERSONALLY ENJOY THE UNPARALLELED PLEASURE OF HAVING A SIREN FOR A PARTNER. HOW DOES SHE INSPIRE YOU AND KEEP YOU FROM WRECKING ON THE SHOALS?

"DAVID:" Wendy and I met about 18 years ago when I asked her to model. She appears in many of my mermaid paintings and in about half of the paintings in the book "Animerotics" which she co-wrote. As the practical and analytical member of our relationship, she manages all the business matters that would distract from my work and dampen my creativity. (These would definitely constitute the "shoals.") The tradf is that her own creative work has often been wrecked in the process.

"WENDY:" There's a lesson here for artists: it's not always beneficial to develop business skills. You may end up being a full-time businessperson and a very occasional artist (I know this danger first-hand). As an agent and publisher, when asked, I invariably advise artists to get a day job before getting involved in the art business. David can't type, can't use the computer, and has zero interest in business. In fact, he has almost no practical skills that don't relate to art. I don't think that's an accident so much as an unconscious strategy. It's hard enough to stay true to an artistic vision without getting things muddled with business concerns. The minute you start thinking about pleasing a market, you compromise the art.

YOUR INTEREST IN SHAKESPEARE (MY FAVORITE PLAYWRITE) AND DICKENS (MY FAVORITE NOVELIST) HINT AT YOUR IMPECCABLE TASTE AND LEAD ME TO ASK YOU THE CHEESY QUESTION POSED ME ONCE DURING AN INTERVIEW. IF YOU COULD MEET ANY 3 PEOPLE, LIVING OR OTHERWISE, WHOM WOULD YOU CHOOSE... AND WHY?

"DAVID:" Ultimately, for me, the question boils down to who I'd like to sit next to on a transatlantic flight. I would love to bathe in the glow of Orson Welles' charm and would delight in being lied to by him. As for a living personality, in my mind Dr. Jonathan Miller (who directed my favorite film version of "Alice in Wonderland") is hands down the most interesting conversationalist going. His incredible well of cultural knowledge is tempered by a remarkable wit (as demonstrated by his work in the comedy group "Beyond the Fringe.")

"WENDY: "That's a tough choice. The one thing we're sure of is that we wouldn't be interested in something akin to an informational interview. We almost always find personality more interesting than hard content. So while, for instance, we wouldn't mind asking Shakespeare which plays involved collaboration and with whom, we'd much rather hear him gripe about his wife or gossip about the queen.

WHAT IS THE MOST MONUMENTAL PROJECT YOU EVER TACKLED AND WHAT CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT IT?

"DAVID:" This would definitely be a toss up between my new "Alice in Wonderland" book (with at least 34 drawings and 25 paintings) and a future mermaid book for which I've already created over 100 images. The mermaid book has been on and off the table for probably thirty years. In the most recent incarnation, the text consists of an elaborate mermaid field guide of Wendy's invention. Our planned publisher is no longer in business and we're now deciding whether to work with another or publish the book ourselves.

WITH ALL ON YOUR ARTISTIC PLATE, DO YOU EVER GET TIME TO INDULGE IN YOUR MUSIC AND WRITING?

"DAVID: " Never enough. But I fit it in where I can and enjoy moving among different media which, again, keeps things from becoming rote.. These days my writing resembles a Dada poem-scraps of phrases, names, and situations scattered around the studio in cups and boxes. My music is much more constituted. I have about six instrumental pieces with which I'm quite happy, some of which I hope to release before the end of the year. The music is a wonderful antidote for too many hours of painting.

WHAT'S NEXT?!

"DAVID:" We're currently working on a treatment for an animated feature film inspired by one of my original children's books. This is the first project that has taken full advantage of our very different skills. Wendy is in charge of structure, plot, and characters, while I handle the visuals and action sequences, though we both contribute to all of these areas.

I've also storyboarded several short films that will likely incorporate my music. I plan to direct and write, while Wendy will write, produce, and design sets.

"To enjoy more of his surreally magnificent works, visit his site HERE. "

"You will also want to follow his FACEBOOK PAGE, where he lets you in on the process as it unfolds, and is wonderful about engaging with fans. "

"On a trivial note, David's "The Mermaid Tavern "was chosen to serve as the cover image on Siren School's L'il Mermaid page on Facebook."

Nihilism And Science

Nihilism And Science
Science (as well as tackle) is a part of modern activist culture - positive, possibly the finishing designate of modernity. As a result science has participated in the nihilism (deficit of truthfulness and course truth) sales rep of modernity, and has been itself vanished by the incoherence of nihilism - in close proximity to many other good baggage enjoy been vanished. The four types of nihilism* are non-judgmental attitude (=relativism and non-discrimination), realism (=materialism, and 'scientism'), vitalism, and damaging nihilism. ToleranceRelativism has perished science from swine caught up with discovering the hidden and unifying truths about the world featuring in... well, overbearing careerism. Like it is sales rep of course truth that upright and horizontal enquiry essence finger onto it to harvest a free (uncoerced) equality - when course truthfulness is denied as a consequence equality becomes the purely while of seriousness. So modern science has become really equality generating - in other words, sneak a quick look review. Now, if a equality of (allegedly impressive) scientists pronounce everything, as a consequence that becomes operationally-'true' - and present-day is no increase year of pastime. From the wager on saturation that 'science generates reflex equality we enjoy now moved to the underneath pronounce of 'managed equality defines science'. Realism/ ScientismThe splendid ability of science completed the 19th century led to scientism, in which truth was declared to be point and concede to science. This was self-subverting, in around ways. Scientism full-grown featuring in the picture that truth was the product of carefully worked-out piece of equipment - put aside that it higher emerged that present-day was no such thing as the carefully worked-out piece of equipment. So, carefully worked-out piece of equipment was (arbitrarily) fastidious, and race began to meditate that truth may perhaps be put on by applying the piece of equipment. Science was rendered featuring in a sausage-machine: annotations were fed-in, the need of carefully worked-out piece of equipment was turned, and sausages of truth emerged at the other end. Like this does not work, the following scale is that appraise and validity of have a row basic too be planned - so that the sausages are pre-defined to be good, proficient and particular - even deficient deprivation to elegance (or test) them. But scientism is most greatly self-refuting when it renders science carrying no great weight and fruitless. Like mortal concentration, meaning and power are all rendered drain by science; scientism wherewithal present-day is no explanation to do science. Or scientism makes some lenient of despotic display of the reverence of 'science for science's sake' (go with to vehicle for art's sake') - the picture that science is "a maximum and chief mortal (or humane?) wave (moral *look* at the triumphs of science*); thus "we necessitate to do science... But after it may be distinct, outward show at the triumphs of science' is itself not an request of carefully worked-out method; as a result scientism destroys any basis for asserting that science or positive *any* mortal wave is maximum or chief. Legitimacy cannot be a coherent maximum mortal reverence, and neither can science - only like the announcement that truth is the maximum reverence them attacks itself, and cannot validate its own truth; evenly the announcement that science is the maximum reverence or come within reach of is itself a non-scientific (metaphysical) display, which is self-refuting. VitalismVitalism is the nation of sensitive discharge, of glisten, as the basic mortal power. As a details fro science it is seen in the logically lonely assertions that science is vast cheerfulness, and that carefully worked-out truth is life-enhancing. Distrustful activist scientists and scholars are repeatedly penniless to this - to a simple display that they do it like they in close proximity to put it on it: Wittgenstein held philosophy was purposeless and he did it from inner infatuation, Uneven held mathematics was purposeless and he did it from gauzy happiness, Feynman held (or cloaked) that he did physics like he found it fun. Of course, such a details from distinct discharge would such as well consign to acquit any mortal spot or evil, or would acquit swine interminably drunk, or put it on go like a bullet at all. And, truth be told, present-day are few race who find philosophy, mathematics or science to be cheerfulness, or concern forced to do them. And - if someone is put it on science for cheerfulness meditate they find the most fun from management, or money, or attracting surprise, or dialogue at conferences, or showing-off in brand, or from seducing their students? Imagine they find these external and inessential aspects of a carefully worked-out affair to be broaden cheerfulness than discovering the truth about the world - what would approach then? To see the answer - moral outward show certain at modern science.Deadly nihilismDonate are piles of race working in and certain science (I fall off to carry them scientists) who are greatly essentially vigorous as damaging nihilists. That is to say they nearly well lack positive aspirations (put aside as an pathetic excuse) but are for the most part go-getting by their desire for wreckage. Donate are many gangs in science whose key unifying smear is detestation of others and desire to harm them. This detestation and antagonism is, of course, packaged for shared make use of as causal to some positive good - some guesswork about the scary disasters which the despised ones are contributing-to. But, evocatively, these speculations about the next harms to be caused by others are themselves unscientific; swine diverse mixtures of chance, jumbled, despotic, undisconfirmable, vague, in a disorderly fashion university, and plain shaded fictional stuff. At an antiquated dot, damaging nihilism is a accepted ingredient of idealistic science or systematic training - when a partly-trained (and calm not learned) prideful teen scientist feels high-quality to the unenlightened, and delights in publicly and prolifically savaging fill with whom he straight away disagrees. Invariably, like it is a hazard of arrogance, this idealistic over-aggression is unpleasant with extreme distinct spirit to slights (real or imagined) - the idealistic pseudo-scientist can serving of food it out, but cannot gain it. (I am thinking here of many of the most prominent science and healing bloggers/ journalists; as well as some of the well recognizable efficient psychopaths of Big Science and healing observe)And I am too words about the 'anti-denialism' affair, in which race in-and-around science enjoy generated gangs fervent to important and detecting 'denialism', to creating gruesome scenarios of tragedy causally official to denialism, and organizing and stimulating detestation of the denialists. Of course, damaging nihilistic energies direct upon their own voice, and as the wave expands it requires a intensifying and variable supply of new enemies. This wave of damaging nihilism is repeatedly charged with demonic energy, like swine special a toss to hate and harm exerts a good turn pastime to the dark part of mortal construction. So, in the terse label, damaging nihilism can resemblance in close proximity to operate, and is tempting for the enervated permissive, the worn-out materialist or the monotonous vitalist. If continued for crave, damaging nihilism leads to the resolved putrefaction of the break away and culture who bear prideful, demonic detestation - as depicted by Thomas Mann in his inventive Doktor Faustus. If not nihilism...Amongst nihilism all paths lead to incoherence and fail. Being instead? To be sustainable and therapeutic and creative from end to end the crave label, science basic be based on an finishing inkling of the good; and this inkling of finishing good basic itself swallow from intrude on, not from explanation or comment - considering the validity of explanation and comment themselves depend on intrude on. *http://www.columbia.edu/cu/augustine/arch/nihilism.html

Walter Veith Responds To Eud And Is Banned In German Churches By German Adventist Leaders

UPDATE REPORT: Walter Veith Responds to EUD and is Banned in German Churches by German Adventist LeadersOn the left: Bruno Vertallier (president of the Inter-European Division), on the right: Walter VeithAn inquiry is currently underway in Germany concerning Walter Veith and anti-semitism charges. In our previously published report, the circumstances and dialogue that took place in this incident are outlined. On December 4, 2012, the EUD made the decision 45 in favour, 4 opposed, and 1 undecided to ban Walter Veith from speaking in German SDA Churches for the second time. The previous ban took place in 2004 due to his lectures on Bible translations and what was termed as "conspiracy theories" which were highly disapproved of by German leaders. The ban was lifted in 2010, but now has been reinstated.Readers should note that there have been no complaints from Jews in regards to Walter's comments, nor have any non-SDAs had issue with the contents of his series. All complaints and disapproval originated from fellow SDA brethren, specifically those associated with the private news agency EANN (similar to Spectrum), and from Church leadership that sided with the accusers. The ban from speaking in German SDA Churches stems not from any public offence actually made, but rather from leadership so desperate to be politically correct that they rather sacrifice truth. Or is there a more sinister reason for their strong opposition to this message? The following letter was sent on December 5, 2012 by Walter Veith to Bruno Vertallier in response to his November 30, 2012 letter of disapproval and request to meet.Dear Brother VertallierThank you for your letter to which I would like to respond. Firstly, I never received any e-mails from you as you might have sent them to an old address and our telephone lines have been stolen so you would not have been able to reach me on the land line. Secondly, from the tone of your letter it is obvious that you did not accept my explanation of the 'small yellow cloth' phrase and I therefore assume that you suppose that it was intentionally derogatory towards the Jews as a people. It seems as though some people are bent on assuming evil intent because that is what they want to hear. The fact of the matter is that my lectures are too close to home for some and therefore every word is placed on the gold scale to find something objectionable and they refuse to accept my explanation that it was an issue of language barrier and nothing else.Let me spell it out for you: In my home language (Afrikaans) all diminutives are endearing and express empathy and we even have double diminutives and triple diminutives to express feelings. In German diminutives are often deemed derogatory and since German and Afrikaans share phrases it is natural for me to use Afrikaans nuances when speaking German. In fact I got into trouble before in Germany for saying that someone had a 'small heart' (kleines Herz) as opposed to 'large heart' (groes Herz). In Afrikaans someone with a small heart (klein hartjie -which by the way is a double diminutive) is kind, full of empathy, gentle, easily hurt, or endearing, but in German it means 'hard-hearted' or 'stingy'. In Afrikaans one would use the phrase 'small cloth' to distinguish it from the opposite extreme such as a large cloth like a bed sheet and no one would even think to interpret it otherwise. I therefore reiterate that I did not mean it in a derogatory sense and that I harbor no anti-Semitic sentiments. Moreover, having grown up in Africa and not in Germany, I was never associated with discrimination against the Jews nor did I ever side with or share any sentiments with those who did. On the contrary, discriminatory ideologies are abhorrent to me.My statements have been wrenched out of all proportions and since the actions of the SDA leadership in German-speaking Europe during the war were not exactly exemplary (as is clear from their apology in the 2005 declaration on anti-Semitism and also the recent reiteration of that declaration) I assume that you overreacted for fear that the past should haunt you. In line with that declaration, I too am against all forms of discrimination on the grounds of race or religion and stand firmly for religious liberty but I draw a clear line of distinction between the theological issues and the racial issues involved. It seems to me that some find it difficult to distinguish between the two because they carry this burden of guilt. The fact that the SDA church in Germany shares this guilt does, however, not give them the right to transfer this baggage onto me and to swing to the opposite extreme of discriminating against the 'antitypical Jews' who preach the Three Angels' Messages. If they do this, then their confession becomes a repentance of King Saul without the change of heart, because they demonstrate by their action that they are just as willing now to repeat their folly as they were then.As Seventh-day Adventists we have been called to present a particular message - the Three Angels' Messages - which will end in the clarion call to all who are trapped in Babylon to 'Come out of her, My people'. The false ideologies must be laid bare and Babylon will be exposed or else no one will know what they are to come out of. The trumpet must give a certain sound so the people can rally under the Lord's banner. This is the aim of my lectures and this should be the aim of every SDA evangelist as we are admonished 'not to let anything else occupy our minds'. Modern Babylonian ideologies are closely associated with a literal state of Israel and must therefore be exposed as false and this alone is the aim of my lectures. The preaching of the Three Angels' Messages is uncomfortable to those within our ranks who wish to be so politically correct that they are willing to sacrifice truth for worldly acceptance. The German leaders never consulted me before issuing a public statement to the churches and thereby did not follow the Biblical process as outlined in Matthew 18:15-20, thereby aligning themselves with the accusers. Furthermore, the legal procedures that have been initiated against me are also out of harmony with Scripture and since the leadership has not distanced itself from this process, they too are in breach of the Biblical admonition in this regard. Your letter to me clearly shows that the EUD position is no different from the above and therefore I now have no choice other than to place this response and some concerns of my own in the public domain as well. The modern ecumenical tendencies in our midst becloud the presentation of the Three Angels' Messages and it seems that our representatives in Europe (as published recently in a German SDA journal) cannot even give a reason as to why we believe that the papacy is the antichrist or why we as a church deem it necessary to hand out the 'Great Controversy'. Are we not admonished against ecumenical associations and will this not be a stumbling block to the propagation of our message? Why is it that not a word of remonstrance is heard when false practices are brought into the church? Most of leadership seems unconcerned when Spiritual Formation comes into our ranks like a flood in spite of the fact that it has its roots in Jesuitical spirituality (as dealt with extensively in my lecture 'The Jesuits and the Counterreformation'). We go even further and advertise books with these sentiments in official church publications. Why was there no public rebuke when a speaker at one of our institutes in Europe advocated blessings by Wiccan witches and why was this speaker even permitted to speak at other SDA institutes? Were those involved ever given letters of rebuke? I am aware that this is not only a European problem and that other institutes have permitted Jesuits and other such speakers to speak at Adventist forums. Why is it that our youth is led astray at official gatherings with music and performances that have no semblance of heaven? I have watched shocking videos of youth and church leaders in Europe engaging in events that would even make other denominations blush. Are we so bent on apostasy that concerned brethren are driven to cry between the porch and the altar for all the evil that is done in Israel? Even Conference Presidents have expressed their deep sadness with regard to this issue to me personally. Again, I acknowledge that this is a worldwide problem, but that the leadership should lead the way in this apostasy, is indeed astounding. Why is it that we willingly adopt the practices of non-SDA mega churches and emerging church theologies that change our message and our outreach to one of 'correction of social injustices' rather than a message of salvation? It seems this is the new wave. Did those who teach these things ever receive letters of rebuke? Is it right that these new methods should be drummed into our students and that we should embrace these practices when we are not only admonished by the Spirit of Prophecy that we should steer clear of such things but are even warned that they would come in like a flood. Do we really want to be part of this fulfillment of prophecy or should we do all in our power to stop it?Why is it that there was no official letter of rebuke from Europe when most of the delegates of that territory voted against the clarification of our position regarding the literal Six-day Creation? Why are evolutionary ideologies not only embraced in our ranks, but the 'princes of Israel', who are supposed to lead the flock in the ancient paths align themselves publicly with this apostasy? When the testimonies that were once believed are marginalized and relegated to the 'trash heap of nineteenth century literature', then the road to perdition is sure to follow. Why are leading figures allowed to slight and ridicule the testimonies and no action is taken against them? Does the Spirit of Prophecy not form part of our fundamental beliefs?Where does Europe stand when it comes to the ordination issue? Irrespective of where we stand on the issue personally, why are there rumblings of secession from the ranks because pet theories are placed above church unity? Did Christ pray in vain for unity? Is it necessary to print an additional watered-down evangelically-minded Sabbath School lesson book just to avoid the sentiments expressed in the Spirit of Prophecy and hereby cause divisions in the church in Europe and indeed in the world? The list could go on and on but I will leave it there. There are many voices of concern regarding these issues, not least of which is that of Elder Ted Wilson who stands out like a beacon of hope and I believe that God has placed him there for a time like this. It is shameful how he was and still is treated by some in our ranks. We can no longer remain silent in the face of these things or else we will be found wanting. We will have to meet these challenges head on ("Iceberg ahead - meet it!") and may God be gracious to us during the shaking which must come.Regarding the issue of Freemasonry and the Jesuits, these matters are clearly outlined in the Spirit of Prophecy and I feel that further discussions would not be fruitful. If we disregard the Spirit of Prophecy, how will we ever understand our SDA mission? Therefore nothing that I could say would change your perceptions. I have stated my case in the past and up to date have never received any reply regardingthese documents and I append them again for your clarification.I wish to assure you that I love Christ and His truth, as given to our pioneers, with all my heart. I believe that this church will go through to the Kingdom and I will continue to do all in my power to call people into its ranks and it is my prayer that the church will unify on the true Advent message as it was preached from 1842 to 1846 {GCB, April 6, 1903 par. 35; 1 MR 52.2}. I thank God for the pioneers and godly Adventists who as late as 1952 published our first declaration of fundamental beliefs under the official auspices of the General Conference in the book "Principles of Life". I stand by this Adventism and by the grace of God will not be moved.I wish to make an appeal to you in the words of the Spirit of prophecy:SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS ARE NOW TO STAND FORTH SEPARATE AND DISTINCT, A PEOPLE DENOMINATED BY THE LORD AS HIS OWN. UNTIL THEY DO THIS, HE CANNOT BE GLORIFIED IN THEM. TRUTH AND ERROR CANNOT STAND IN COPARTNERSHIP. LET US NOW PLACE OURSELVES WHERE GOD HAS SAID THAT WE SHOULD STAND.... WE ARE TO STRIVE FOR UNITY BUT NOT ON THE LOW LEVEL OF CONFORMITY TO WORLDLY POLICY AND UNION WITH THE POPULAR CHURCHES.--LT 113, 1903. {2MCP 559.2}Your Brother in ChristWalter VeithAppended Documents:Walter Veith's response to BRI (May 2004) - no response received to date."You should not believe your conscience and your feelings more than the Word which the Lord who receives sinners preaches to you." ~ Martin LutherSOURCE.

The Archdruid New Year Message

The Archdruid New Year Message
When giving a New Year message it is always tempting to assume that everyone else that is listening to you agrees with you. I suspect that this may not be the case with Gordon Brown this year, as he'd probably have to go a long way to find anyone to agree with him. Even in his own party apparently.

For myself, in greeting this new year 2010 CE, I will instead reflect that each of us has their own story. In a post-modern world there is only one grand narrative, and that is that there are no grand narratives. And therefore this address will be in many parts.

To the Beaker Secularists Movement I say - happy new year, Albert. That's another year gone before we're all dead.

To the Moon Gibbon people I say - I know you've renamed yourself "Forward in Ferns", and gone out on your own onto Aspley Heath to pretend you're nothing to do with us. But isn't it awful cold out there?

To the Primitive Extreeme Beaker Folk, I wish a new year of happy mis-spelling and rousing hymns.

To the unexpected Mayan Beaker Folk who appeared in the community early last week for no apparent reason, I say - "Only two years left!"

To the honest, hard-working, decent, salt-of-the-earth, Archdruid-supporting middle-of-the-road Beaker Folk I say this. Early in the year we realised that in order to pull the Community through the recession, it was important that I borrow lots of money from you so I could use it to bribe you with deluxe tea lights, pebbles bought in from Indonesian islands and special glittery hi-viz. And for a while it worked. But next year, Hnaef will be raising the "voluntary" offerings to new and stringent levels so I can remove the money from you, then pay you back the money I borrowed from you minus a special "bankruptcy protection fund". You may not understand the fine detail of this but be assured, we'll all be poorer. Except me of course. Next year you'll be digging for your own pebbles and melting down roadkill to make tea lights. And it will be my job to try and make you think life would be worse under Drayton Parslow.

To Drayton Parslow I say - you take over this community over my dead body, sunbeam. Or, more likely, yours.

To the Guinea Pig folk of Stewartby, I can only say it in song - "Who ate all the guinea pigs? Who ate all the guinea pigs?" The answer is we did, but it was a huge mistake. Sorry about that.

And to the Muslims, Jews, Mayans and others of this world whose religions don't think it's the New Year at all (I include the Beaker Folk of course, whose New Year was last week, and any neo-pagans who think it was at Halloween). But to all whose years are numbered differently I say - did you notice what happened back there? I referred to next year as "CE", for "Common Era". "Not AD" for Anno Domini. It's a cunning trick carried out for Political Correctness purposes. It relativizes the date by distancing it from the Christian faith whose original (wrong) reckoning of when Jesus was born is the foundation of the Western calendar. And so you think it's all suddenly so neutral and dolphin-friendly and respectful of all traditions and none. And yet - it's the same old Western numbering system. So we've conned you into thinking that it's so even-handed, and yet simultaneously we've made sure that the "Common" date you use.... was ours all along. Clever eh? And they say cultural imperialism is dead.

Happy New Year. And may your God or gods go with you. Unless you're a humanist, in which case may your anorak keep you warm and dry.

Hern

Hern
I was writing about planning a ritual for Litha on A Pagan Tapestry and for some reason Hern popped into my mind. Perhaps too long since I did a ritual for him also. He is the only male deity that I regularly work with.I will not be dedicating the Litha ritual to him. I am thinking of dedicating it to a Sun Goddess.Hern is very special to me and it is past time to dedicate a ritual to him. Hern is not a son of the sun. Hern is shadows and lush foliage. Hern is the hush of a forest disturbed. Hern is dark secrets and a path to light. Hern is mentor to magicians and witches. Hern is the enemy to any who seek to dominate nature, but he revels in the hunt, as it is the way of nature. Hern is kin to the Greenman, or perhaps he is the Greenman in another guise. Hern cannot be summoned or petitioned. Hern will accept offerings but makes no promises.Tell your secrets to Hern and perhaps he will share one with you.

Palabras De Benedicto Xvi

Palabras De Benedicto Xvi
DISCURSO DEL PAPA A LOS REPRESENTANTES DE LA COMUNIDAD JUD'iA ALEMANA VIAJE APOST`oLICO A ALEMANIA. * * * * * DISTINGUIDOS SE~nORES Y SE~nORAS: ME ALEGRA ENCONTRARME CON USTEDES, AQU'i, EN BERL'iN. AGRADEZCO DE CORAZ`oN AL PRESIDENTE, DR. DIETER GRAUMANN, LAS AMABLES PALABRAS DE BIENVENIDA, QUE MANIFIESTAN CU'aNTO HA CRECIDO LA CONFIANZA ENTRE EL PUEBLO JUD'iO Y LA IGLESIA CAT`oLICA, QUE TIENEN EN COM^eN UNA PARTE NADA DESDE~nABLE DE SUS TRADICIONES FUNDAMENTALES. AL MISMO TIEMPO, TODOS TENEMOS CLARO QUE UNA COMUNI`oN AMOROSA Y COMPRENSIVA ENTRE ISRAEL Y LA IGLESIA, EN EL RESPETO REC'iPROCO DE LA IDENTIDAD DEL OTRO, DEBE CRECER TODAV'iA M'aS Y ENTRAR DE MODO M'aS PROFUNDO EN EL ANUNCIO DE LA FE. AL PRINCIPIO, CASI NADIE SE ESFORZABA POR REFUNDAR LAS ANTIGUAS COMUNIDADES HEBREAS, NO OBSTANTE LLEGARAN CONTINUAMENTE PERSONAS Y FAMILIAS JUD'iAS DEL ESTE. MUCHAS DE ELLAS QUER'iAN EMIGRAR Y CONSTRUIRSE UNA NUEVA EXISTENCIA, SOBRE TODO EN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS O EN ISRAEL. EN ESTE LUGAR, HAY QUE RECORDAR TAMBI'eN LA NOCHE DEL POGROMO, DEL 9 AL 10 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 1938. SOLAMENTE UNOS POCOS PERCIBIERON EN SU TOTALIDAD LA DIMENSI`oN DE DICHO ACTO DE DESPRECIO HUMANO, COMO LO HIZO EL DE'aN DE LA CATEDRAL DE BERL'iN, BERNHARD LICHTENBERG, QUE DESDE EL P^eLPITO DE ESA SANTA IGLESIA DE SANTA EDUVIGIS, GRIT`o: " FUERA, EL TEMPLO EST'a EN LLAMAS; TAMBI'eN 'eSTE ES CASA DE DIOS ". EL R'eGIMEN DE TERROR DEL NACIONALSOCIALISMO SE FUNDABA SOBRE UN MITO RACISTA, DEL QUE FORMABA PARTE EL RECHAZO DEL DIOS DE ABRAH'aN, DE ISAAC Y DE JACOB, DEL DIOS DE JESUCRISTO Y DE LAS PERSONAS QUE CREEN EN 'eL. EL "OMNIPOTENTE" ADOLF HITLER ERA UN 'iDOLO PAGANO, QUE QUER'iA PONERSE COMO SUSTITUTO DEL DIOS B'iBLICO, CREADOR Y PADRE DE TODOS LOS HOMBRES. CUANDO NO SE RESPETA A ESTE DIOS ^eNICO, SE PIERDE TAMBI'eN EL RESPETO POR LA DIGNIDAD DEL HOMBRE. LAS HORRIBLES IM'aGENES DE LOS CAMPOS DE CONCENTRACI`oN AL FINAL DE LA GUERRA MOSTRARON DE LO QUE PUEDE SER CAPAZ EL HOMBRE QUE RECHAZA A DIOS Y EL ROSTRO QUE PUEDE ASUMIR UN PUEBLO EN EL "NO" A ESE DIOS. ANTE ESTE RECUERDO, DEBEMOS CONSTATAR CON GRATITUD QUE DESDE HACE ALGUNA D'eCADA MANIFIESTA UN NUEVO DESARROLLO, QUE PERMITE HABLAR INCLUSO DE UN RENACER DE LA VIDA JUD'iA EN ALEMANIA. HAY QUE SUBRAYAR QUE, EN ESTE TIEMPO, LA COMUNIDAD JUD'iA SE HA DESTACADO PARTICULARMENTE POR LA OBRA DE INTEGRACI`oN DE LOS EMIGRANTES DEL ESTE EUROPEO. CON VIVO APRECIO, QUISIERA ALUDIR TAMBI'eN AL DI'aLOGO DE LA IGLESIA CAT`oLICA CON EL HEBRA'iSMO, UN DI'aLOGO QUE SE EST'a PROFUNDIZANDO. LA IGLESIA SE SIENTE MUY CERCANA AL PUEBLO HEBREO. CON LA DECLARACI`oN "NOSTRA AETATE "DEL CONCILIO VATICANO II, SE COMENZ`o A " RECORRER UN CAMINO IRREVOCABLE DE DI'aLOGO, DE FRATERNIDAD Y DE AMISTAD " ( CF. "DISCURSO EN LA SINAGOGA DE ROMA", 17 DE ENERO DE 2010 ). ESTO VALE PARA TODA LA IGLESIA CAT`oLICA, EN LA QUE EL BEATO PAPA JUAN PABLO II SE COMPROMETI`o DE UNA MANERA PARTICULARMENTE INTENSA EN FAVOR DE ESTE NUEVO CAMINO. ESTO VALE OBVIAMENTE TAMBI'eN PARA LA IGLESIA CAT`oLICA EN ALEMANIA, QUE ES BIEN CONSCIENTE DE SU PARTICULAR RESPONSABILIDAD EN ESTA MATERIA. EN EL 'aMBITO P^eBLICO, DESTACA SOBRE TODO LA " SEMANA DE LA FRATERNIDAD ", ORGANIZADA CADA A~nO EN LA PRIMERA SEMANA DE MARZO POR LAS ASOCIACIONES LOCALES PARA LA COLABORACI`oN CRISTIANO-JUD'iA. POR LA PARTE CAT`oLICA, SE LLEVAN A CABO ADEM'aS ENCUENTROS ANUALES ENTRE OBISPOS Y RABINOS, AS'i COMO COLOQUIOS ORGANIZADOS CON EL CONSEJO CENTRAL DE LOS JUD'iOS. YA EN LOS A~nOS SETENTA, EL COMIT'e CENTRAL DE LOS CAT`oLICOS ALEMANES ("ZDK") SE DISTINGUI`o POR LA FUNDACI`oN DE UN F`oRUM " JUD'iOS Y CRISTIANOS ", QUE EN EL TRASCURSO DE LOS A~nOS HA ELABORADO COMPETENTEMENTE MUCHOS DOCUMENTOS ^eTILES. NO SE DEBE OLVIDAR TAMPOCO EL HIST`oRICO ENCUENTRO PARA EL DI'aLOGO JUD'iO-CRISTIANO DE MARZO DE 2006, CON LA PARTICIPACI`oN DEL CARDENAL WALTER KASPER. ESTA REUNI`oN HA TRA'iDO MUCHOS FRUTOS, INCLUSO EN TIEMPOS RECIENTES. JUNTO A ESTAS ENCOMIABLES INICIATIVAS CONCRETAS, ME PARECE QUE LOS CRISTIANOS DEBEMOS TAMBI'eN DARNOS CUENTA CADA VEZ M'aS DE NUESTRA AFINIDAD INTERIOR CON EL JUDA'iSMO. PARA LOS CRISTIANOS, NO PUEDE HABER UNA FRACTURA EN EL EVENTO SALV'iFICO. LA SALVACI`oN VIENE, PRECISAMENTE, DE LOS JUD'iOS ( CF. "JN" 4, 22 ). CUANDO EL CONFLICTO DE JES^eS CON EL JUDA'iSMO DE SU TIEMPO SE VE DE MANERA SUPERFICIAL, COMO UNA RUPTURA CON LA ANTIGUA ALIANZA, SE ACABA REDUCI'eNDOLO A UN IDEA DE LIBERACI`oN QUE CONSIDERA LA "TOR'a" SOLAMENTE COMO LA OBSERVANCIA SERVIL DE UNOS RITOS Y PRESCRIPCIONES EXTERIORES. SIN EMBARGO, EL DISCURSO DE LA MONTA~nA NO DEROGA LA LEY MOSAICA, SINO QUE DESVELA SUS REC`oNDITAS POSIBILIDADES Y HACE SURGIR NUEVAS EXIGENCIAS; NOS REENV'iA AL FUNDAMENTO M'aS PROFUNDO DEL OBRAR HUMANO, AL CORAZ`oN, DONDE EL HOMBRE ELIGE ENTRE LO PURO Y LO IMPURO, DONDE GERMINA LA FE, LA ESPERANZA Y LA CARIDAD. EL MENSAJE DE ESPERANZA, TRANSMITIDO POR LOS LIBROS DE LA BIBLIA HEBREA Y DEL ANTIGUO TESTAMENTO CRISTIANO, HA SIDO ASIMILADO Y DESARROLLADO POR LOS JUD'iOS Y LOS CRISTIANOS DE MODO DISTINTO. " DESPU'eS DE SIGLOS DE CONTRAPOSICI`oN, RECONOZCAMOS COMO TAREA NUESTRA EL ESFUERZO PARA QUE ESTOS DOS MODOS DE LA NUEVA LECTURA DE LOS ESCRITOS B'iBLICOS LA CRISTIANA Y LA JUD'iA ENTREN EN DI'aLOGO ENTRE S'i, PARA COMPRENDER RECTAMENTE LA VOLUNTAD Y LA PALABRA DE DIOS " ( "JES^eS DE NAZARET. SEGUNDA PARTE: DESDE LA ENTRADA EN JERUSAL'eN HASTA LA RESURRECCI`oN", PP. 47-48 ). EN UNA SOCIEDAD CADA VEZ M'aS SECULARIZADA, ESTE DI'aLOGO DEBE REFORZAR LA COM^eN ESPERANZA EN DIOS. SIN ESA ESPERANZA LA SOCIEDAD PIERDE SU HUMANIDAD. CON TODO ESTO, PODEMOS CONSTATAR QUE EL INTERCAMBIO ENTRE LA IGLESIA CAT`oLICA Y EL JUDA'iSMO EN ALEMANIA HA DADO YA FRUTOS PROMETEDORES. HAN CRECIDO LAS RELACIONES DURADERAS Y DE CONFIANZA. CIERTAMENTE, JUD'iOS Y CRISTIANOS TIENEN UNA RESPONSABILIDAD COM^eN PARA EL DESARROLLO DE LA SOCIEDAD, QUE ENTRA~nA SIEMPRE UNA DIMENSI`oN RELIGIOSA. QUE TODOS LOS INTERESADOS CONTIN^eEN JUNTOS ESTE CAMINO. QUE PARA ELLO, EL ^ENICO Y OMNIPOTENTE "HA KADOSCH BARUCH HU" OTORGUE SU BENDICI`oN.
