Midsummer Summer Solstice

Midsummer Summer Solstice
Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, the height of the sun's power. From this point onward we are now in the waning part of the year which the sun will disappear from the sky a little more each day.

Ritual during this time is focused on nurturing new life both in the ground and in human and animals. The Goddess is pregnant, the earth is pregnant with the coming harvest.

The sun is at his peak in the sky, The Sun God at the peak of his life. This Sabbat glorifies the sun. The sun is a symbol of protection, many pagans choose to make protective amulets. One common amulet is a God's Eye.

Though all eight of the Sabbats are in some way fire festivals, the element is most prominent at Midsummer. Fire is the most easily seen and immediately felt element of transformation. It can burn, consume, cook, shed light or purify. Balefires were lite and around these flames the festivities and rituals would take place.

Blessed Be
