Wicca is a modern pagan, witchcraft religion

Wicca is a diverse religion with no central authority or figure defining it.

Wicca often involves the ritual practice of magic, though it is not always necessary

Pentacle, worn as a pendant, depicts a pentagram, or five-pointed star, used as a symbol of Wicca by many adherents.

Beliefs in Wicca range from hard polytheism to even monotheism.

Wicca is typically duotheistic, worshipping a god and goddess traditionally viewed as a mother goddess and horned god.

The term Wicca first achieved widespread acceptance when referring to the religion in the 1960s and 70s

Application of the word Wicca has given rise to "a great deal of disagreement and infighting".

The Goddess and the God may be regarded as the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine

The God and Goddess are generally seen as lovers and equals, the Divine Couple who together co-create the cosmos.

Traditionally the God is viewed as a Horned God, associated with nature, wilderness, sexuality, hunting and the life cycle

The Horned God is given various names according to the tradition, and these include Cernunnos, Pan, Atho and Karnayna.

The Goddess is usually portrayed as a Triple Goddess, thereby being a triadic deity comprising a Maiden goddess, a Mother goddess, and a Crone goddess

Some Wiccans, particularly from the 1970s onwards, have viewed the Goddess as the more important of the two deities, who is pre-eminent in that she contains and conceives all. In this respect, the God is viewed as the spark of life and inspiration within her, simultaneously her lover and her child.

General Questions About Wicca And Magick Re Is There Anything I Should Be Afraid Of

General Questions About Wicca And Magick Re Is There Anything I Should Be Afraid Of

Electra wrote:

Is there anything I should be afraid of when doing a spell or a ritual? I know this may sound weird, but I was raised in a family where all forms of magick is bad. Is there a certain group of people I should be afraid of, referring to the prosecution of many Witches throughout time.

Generally speaking, no. You don't need to be afraid of anything. You do need to prepare though. As with any minority, witches can be the target of social persecution which requires a thick skin. If you don't feel you would handle social ridicule very well then just keep who you are and what you do to yourself.

Don't be afraid to do spells or rituals; however, again you'll want to prepare. As your magic grows stronger entities may be drawn to you. Some might be good, some might be bad. That's why it's important to learn cleansing spells, protection spells, banishing spells and invisibility spells. It's also important to learn how to ground excess energy from spells.

So don't be afraid! Be prepared!

Goddess Bless!

Weight Loss Spells That Work New Year New You

Weight Loss Spells That Work New Year New You
Its a new year and new you! We all set goals for things that we want to change entering into the new era. Weight loss is a common resolution, so how can witchcraft spells help? Easy, having a weight loss spell cast to give yourself the best chance of success is a good strategy and one that thousands are embracing.

It is becoming more common knowledge that having a spell cast works and can be used to change things about your life that you don't like. This also stands true for weight loss spells. A weight loss spell can be cast and directed towards a specific person. When a weight loss spell targets that person, it stimulates their metabolism. This allows them to burn calories at a faster rate naturally.

How are results measured? Well the scale doesn't lie, but in addition to being able to measure tangible results, people report experiencing higher energy levels and stamina during exercise. Getting into a regular weekly exercise routine after a weight loss spell has been cast is always going to bring stronger and faster results. The body will be able to burn fat faster when both exercise and a weight loss spell work together.

What type of weight loss spell do I need? The best rule of thumb is to always use white magic. If you do not know how to cast a spell yourself or are inexperienced, the best solution is to consult an experienced coven of witches. When working with a coven, also known as a group of witches, you will have the benefit of multiple people putting their energy into your spell. The more energy that is put into a weight loss spell, the better results it will produce.

Always remember to stay away from any type of black magic or root work. They can have negative side effects and not last as long as white magic spells. Weight loss spells can be permanent if cast properly. This will help with not only losing the weight but also with keeping it off.

The Role And Progression Of Love Spells In Ancient Times

The Role And Progression Of Love Spells In Ancient Times

By Brenda Collins

Love spells have existed for as long as people have valued romance. Like religion, they pervade every culture throughout history. In ancient days, the most popular spell made use of a wax reproduction of the object of the spell-maker's affection. They were generally cast to convince the gods to grant a love connection with the desired person.

Love has always been the core goal in many forms of witchcraft, pervading many cultures and eras. Originally, they were cast in an attempt to force the desired to fulfill the caster's wishes. Sometimes, offerings were made to the gods to convince them to provide more romantic luck.

Druids were the magical Celtic leaders who made use of rites to predict the future, solve legal problems and heal the sick. Druids received authority that was almost equal to that of royalty. Contemporary druids focus their beliefs on nature. Charms are performed in oak groves, because they believe trees are sacred.

Druids encourage romantic spellcasters to have focused intent to avoid attracting an unintended target. They also insist on responsibility, with the caster being encouraged to be certain about what he wishes for. A positive intent is an important prequel to magic in love spells that work.

Sandalwood, myrrh, cinnamon and frankincense are used by druids to win the affections of a person. These ingredients are combined when the beloved is in the same room. The aroma produced is believed to magically merge the couple's energies. Wedding rings, red ribbons and wine glasses are arranged in another charm, and are accompanied by an incantation, which is recited each Friday over a period of 21 days.

The Ancient Egyptians believed that love was commanded by gods. Charms were cast to reunite partners, fix marriages and banish romantic competitors. Rites were performed to convince daimons, or divine spirits, to help do the caster's bidding. It was believed that these spirits would appear in the target's or caster's dreams. Evocations were spoken to convince the gods to help. Items that belonged to the desired person were combined or arranged during charms.

The gods of ancient Egypt were an important part of romantic life. Apis and Min were in charge of fertility. Bastet, the cat god, was seen to control affection, and Hathor lorded over romance. Myrrh was seen as one of Hathor's favored substances, so it was an important role in many charms of this time.

Ancient Greece and Rome were centered around a belief in the gods, so magic sought to influence their powers. Religion, philosophy and medicine were closely woven together, so charms were cast by religious authorities in temples. Herbs that were believed to inspire passion were sold in the streets.

The most popular romantic magic practiced during ancient times by women focused on improving bonds between two people. Men practiced erotic magic that intended to make the caster appear more attractive to the object of his affection. Prostitutes of the time used magic to promote their profitability.

Eros was the god of ancient Rome that created lovers' bonds. Love spells from this era went through a profound change after marriage was legally required to be monogamous. Charms became dark rites that were seen as evil.
