We Love

We Love
"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not yet perfected in love." 1John 4:18 Fear is a powerful motivator and many of the things people do are the result of being afraid. Some people fear the negative opinions and responses of others, and still other people fear God. Those who fear God usually don't have a clear understanding of who they are to God as redeemed persons. They tend to live in the light of performance Christianity thinking and believing that if they fail to measure up to what they perceive to be God's expectations He will somehow be "displeased" with them. I have great sorrow for those who live in such self-imposed bondage, for God's Word makes it so clear that it is not what He desires for His children."Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus". Romans 8:1 Believers experience the full and complete love of the Father. He holds nothing back from us, showering us with His most precious blessings. He does not do this because of what we do but because of what we are. God tells us that we are holy and blameless before Him (Eph. 1:3) and that we have been adopted into His family. As adopted children He withholds nothing from us, we are full heirs with Christ. you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ. Romans 8:15-17 (NASB)God's view of us never changes because God never changes! He sees us as being "in Christ" and that is unchangeable. He sees us in light on what Christ did for us on the cross (Gal. 2:16) and that work is completely finished. There is no need to fear rejection from God (Heb. 13:5) and He promises not to abandon the Believer (Ps. 94:14) either. The love of God enables us to love without fear and to love without reciprocation. Because He loves us we can love those who are unlovable, untrue, untrustworthy and unkind. The love of God compels us to do so! "We love, because He loved us first". 1 John 4:19
